If no anchoring booms are installed, one work boat can be used instead. Work boat delivers greater maneuverability. After a single anchoring operation, the dredger can keep working for a long time without repeated anchoring. Apart from dropping anchor /laying anchor tasks, the work boat can also transport fuel and fresh water, shuttle crews, carry out rescue missions, and install or replace pipelines. Therefore, we tend to recommend one work boat to clients rather than spud winches.

Spud carriages are highly practical for medium and large cutter head river dredgers. With the carriage, the stern spuds can move forward rapidly, saving more operational time for dredging work. This improves sand output per unit time and raises productivity while cutting operational costs.
