Applications of Cutter Suction Dredgers

Cutter suction dredgers are widely used in operations such as sand and gravel dredging, land reclamation, port construction, and dredging in inland rivers, lakes, and coastal ports.
A series of large-scale offshore cutter suction dredging vessels-exemplified by the *Tianjing*-have participated in major national strategic projects, including the construction of offshore islands and reefs, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and the deep-water channel regulation project at the Yangtze River Estuary.
The *Tiankun* participated in a dredging and reclamation project at the Port of Abu Dhabi in the UAE; the *Tianshan* conducted dredging operations off the coast of the Grand Faw Port in Iraq; the *Tianbai* undertook the dredging and excavation of the foundation trench for the Zubair subsea tunnel; and the *Xinhaixu* participated in relevant construction projects in Saudi Arabia. Chinese cutter suction dredgers have also been utilized in marine engineering projects across countries along the "Belt and Road" initiative.
The all-electric, eco-friendly cutter suction dredger *Junlan* was deployed for a pilot desilting project at the Guanting Reservoir, while the intelligent, eco-friendly cutter suction dredger *Taihu Junqing 2* is designed for silt excavation in rivers, lakes, and reservoirs of various sizes.
